Today we will talk again about cryptography. But now we will tell you something that truly surprises you. Do you think that any cipher in the world can be hacked?

Here, for example, take from past articles the famous RSA encryption method that ensures the security of the entire Internet. For hacking, it just requires space computing power - and yet, theoretically, it can be hacked in a very long time. Especially if people invent quantum computers - with almost unlimited computing power.

And yet, if you imagine that quantum computers are created and the computing power becomes infinite - will there be at least one way to still securely encrypt information?

The answer is yes, there is such a way. And it is called Absolute Encryption or one-time Notepads. And surprisingly, it is even easier than RSA. Even an elementary school student can understand it.

Consider the following scheme (at the end of the numbers in brackets we write the remainder of division by 2: so for odd numbers, the remainder when divided by 2 = 1, for even numbers = 0)

even (0) + even (0) = even (0), example 4 + 6 = 10

odd (1) + odd (1) = even (0), example 3 + 7 = 10

odd (1) + even (0) = odd (1), example 3 + 6 = 9

even (0) + odd (1) = odd (1), example 6 + 3 = 9

It turns out this arithmetic of addition of residues from division by 2:

0+0=0

1+1=0

1+0=1

0+1=1

Now imagine that our message that we want to encrypt and transmit - consists of 0 and 1, for example

0 1 1 1 0 1 0 0 1  - this is the original message

To encrypt take a random set of 0 and 1, equal in length

encrypted message - we will call this set a one-time notepad:

1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 - this is a one-time notepad

And make the addition operation in columns in the arithmetic of the residuals

0 1 1  0 1 0 0 1 - this is the original message

1 0 1  0 1 0 1 1 - this is a one-time notepad

And now attention - how can you find out about this message, which message was the original one? The answer is no way !!! - If you do not have a one-time notepad.

Indeed, in the first position of the encrypted message is 1, from which it could come in the original message? From 0, if the notebad was 1 (as in the first column). From 1, if the notepad was 0 (as in the 2nd column)

In the third position of the encrypted message is 0, from which it could turn out in the original message? From 1, if the notepad was 1 (as in the 3rd column). From 0, if the notepad was 0 (as in the 4th column)

That is, once again - in an encrypted message, 0 could come out of anything (from 0 or 1 in the original message) - it all depends on the notepad, and 1 could come out of anything (from 0 or 1 in the original message) - everything depends on the notepad

That is absolutely any set of 0 and 1 could be a prototype of an encrypted message - in which absolutely any information could be encrypted! It could be equally as top-secret data, and poems of the famous poet.

To decrypt a message — you must do the opposite — again, apply a one-time notepad to the encrypted message — and you’ll get the original message:

1 1 0  0 0 0 1 0 - This is an encrypted message. 

1 0 1  0 1 0 1 1 - this is a one-time notepad

This encryption method is impossible to crack in any way, if you do not have an encrypting and the same decrypting notepad.

Notepads are called one-time, because for security purposes it is recommended to use a new notepad for each new message.

So why, then, use RSA in Internet encryption? One of the main reasons is that notepads should be as long as encrypted messages. This leads to traffic overspending. While in RSA, even 100-digit prime numbers are relatively small compared to the huge amounts of traffic transmitted on the Internet. And besides, absolute encryption is symmetric encryption - the same notepad (key) is used for both encryption and decryption of a message. RSA is a rare example of asymmetric encryption — where encryption and decryption keys are different — and this is more efficient. But this is a topic for individual articles.

And nevertheless - all these in no way detract from the fact that messages encrypted with one-time notepads cannot be decrypted in principle. No matter how powerful computers you use.

Such sites are securely protected, and any data - that you exchange with such sites - can not be intercepted in the middle (for example, by your Internet provider). But the most interesting thing is that the basis of 

this world-wide encryption is a simple school task for the 5th grade pupils. As soon as in elementary school, children will learn how to divide numbers — they will quickly understand that there are numbers that are not divided by anything except themselves and one. These numbers are called "prime" numbers as opposed to "compound" numbers.

These numbers are: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89 , 97, 101, 103, 107, 109, 113, 127, 131, 137, 139, 149, 151, 157, 163, 167, 173, 179, 181, 191, 193, 197, 199,….

The irony of fate is that in fact the "prime" numbers are the most complex in the world and nobody knows the exact pattern of their distribution among all numbers.

The problem for 5th grade pupils is given here:

We just take 2 prime numbers and multiply them, let them be 137 and 199

The solution of this problem is: 137 * 199 = 27263 - the result of this expression is computed easily using only 1 operation, 

all 5th grade pupils are capable to solve that 

At this time we reverse the problem mentioned above:

Find two numbers whose result of multiplication is number 27263

The solution is:

This task in comparison with previous one is more difficult to solve, because it is necessary to take all possible divisors of the number 27263 and perform operation of division. At the first step we must try to divide the number 27263 by 2, then by 3, then by 4, till 27262.

As you can see, the direct problem requires 1 operation of multiplication, and the reverse one requires 27261.

The sophisticated reader will notice that it is enough to reach only half - to the number 13631 in the attempts of division, the mathematician will say that it is enough to check to the square root of 27263 - i.e. to 165. But even in this situation, it is 165 times more difficult than the direct problem of the 5th grade.

But initially we could take not 3-digit prime numbers, but let's say 100-digit prime numbers (numbers with 100 digits) - and then the inverse problem even for a mathematician with its square root would be more difficult even 100-digit number times (1 and 100 zeros once) !!! And going through 1 and 100 zero division attempts is unthinkable even for the most powerful supercomputer.

Messages on the Internet are encrypted in a fraction of a second, multiplying giant prime numbers - but still in just 1 operation. And for decryption it is required to learn its simple components by a huge composite number. 

And the number of operations needed for this is greater than the age of the Universe in seconds.

No one can quickly decompose numbers into prime factors. No one came up with a quick way to solve a 5th grade level puzzle. And this task remains unresolved for more than two thousand years since the time of the ancient Greeks.

On that there is standing a cryptography in the Internet.

The creators of the RSA encryption algorithm from 1970 to the present time are a group of several mathematicians from an American university. Since this time the creators earn USD 1 billion a year by permitting to use their cryptographic algorithm worldwide. Чем пользуются хакеры? Что они изучают чтобы взламывать наши компьютеры? Рекомендуем Вам тоже изучить вкратце эти технологии, чтобы вы могли обезопасить себя от взлома. 

1. Умение программировать, хотя бы на одном популярном языке программирования.

Незаменимый инструмент для web-разработчика. Программа фиксирует все обращения к локальному серверу MySQL.

7. p0f — детектор операционных систем 

Позволяет пассивно определять тип оборудования и установленные операционные системы на машинах. Атакующий не выдаст себя и факт разведки не попадет в журналы.

8. snort — система обнаружения вторжений 

Система обнаружения сетевых вторжений. Выявит и детально запротоколирует все сетевые атаки на ваш рабочий компьютер или сервер. Кто атаковал, когда, откуда, какие порты, с каким результатом и т.д.

9. tcpdump — захват сетевого трафика 

Записывает весь трафик в универсальном формате PCAP для дальнейшего изучения. Например, можно записать трафик публичной сети Wi-Fi и дома изучить записанное с помощью Wireshark.

10. iftop — производительность сетевой подсистемы 

Мониторинг производительности сетевой подсистемы. Тормозит интернет? Проверьте для начала iftop — может банально не тянет сетевой адаптер.

11. netstat — что происходит? Показывает открытые сетевые порты и подключившихся к ним клиентов. Периодически полезно запускать на серверах для проверки, не протроянили ли компьютер.

12. netcat — универсальный сетевой инструмент 

Наикрутейшая программа, позволяющая открывать сокеты и привязывать их к командной строке. Например, можно связать bash с одним из портов и получить простейшее средство удаленного администрирования.

13. dhcpdump — получение данных о локальной сети 

Программа предоставляет информацию о широковещательных пакетах от DHCP-сервера, работающего в вашей локальной сети. На основе собранных данных можно легко выяснить адрес шлюза, DNS-сервера и иную информацию еще до подключения.

Некоторые хакеры работают в одиночку. Это касается как тех, кто взламывает системы и занимается кражей информации, так и тех, кто самостоятельно пишет зловредные программы. Группировка хакеров уделяют много внимания написанию вирусов или их модернизации. За последние несколько лет число группировок увеличилось, так же как количество взломов и краж.

Кто может стать жертвой хакера? - Ответ - любой из нас! Любой компьютер имеющий выход в интернет - может стать уязвимым. Думать что ваш стареньких домашний компьютер никому не интересен - не правильно. Всегда помните о безопасности в сети: 

-Не выкладывайте свои паспортные данные в сети

-Не выкладывайте данные своих банковских карт

-Ставьте сложные пароли на свои телефоны, компьютеры и аккаунты в соц сетях

-Свои личные и важные файлы которые вы храните на компьютере - храните в запароленных zip архивах

-Помните что чем сложнее и длиннее ваш пароль - тем сложнее будет его взломать

3.  Как обеспечить безопасность сайта

Интернет является источником не только полезной информации, но и средой для распространения компьютерных вирусов. Вирусы используются злоумышленниками как для кражи информации, так и для получения контроля над зараженным компьютером или интернет-сайтом. Не будьте доверчивым и беспечным. И почитайте  немного различных статей про Идентификацию, Защиту от DDoS-атак, Веб-трафик, Валидацию. 

Проводите аудит и тестирование проекта к готовой реализации.

Проведите тестирование на проникновение — взломайте себя, а также попросите кого-то еще взломать вас - чтобы найти уязвимости и устранить до выпуска проекта.

Вы можете подумать, зачем мне знать seo - если я просто хочу программировать?

А seo - вам будет нужно если:

• вы хотите оставить конкурентов позади;

• вы хотите получать стабильный поток клиентов из поиска;
